The Charles University Medical Faculty in Pilsen was established by a Czechoslovak presidential decree in 1945 as part of what was then the only CU Medical Faculty in Prague, but it rapidly won independent status and accreditation for its master’s programmes in the fields of general and dental medicine. The Pilsen Medical Faculty is now a modern university institution in which future physicians receive a full scientific and ethical training, and medical researchers are carrying out a whole range of projects.

Masaryk University, located in Brno, is the second biggest public university-type school in the Czech Republic and the first in Moravia region. Today, it houses nine faculties of more than 190 departments, institutes and clinics altogether. It is recognised one of the most significant institutions of education and research in the Czech Republic and a respected Central Europe university with democratic traditions advocated since its establishment in 1919. It is also a principal social and cultural player in the South Moravia region.
