Masaryk University, located in
Brno, is the second biggest public
university-type school in the Czech Republic and
the first in Moravia region. Today, it houses
nine faculties of more than 190 departments,
institutes and clinics altogether. It is
recognised one of the most significant
institutions of education and research in the
Czech Republic and a respected Central Europe
university with democratic traditions advocated
since its establishment in 1919. It is also
a principal social and cultural player in the
South Moravia region.
